Since 1999
Our Journey
From a single jacquard loom in Surat to sarees worn in 15+ states, this is the story of how Peshni grew one weave at a time — always on our own looms, always true to the craft.
How It Began
A Single Loom, A Simple Promise
Peshni started in 1999 as a small family workshop with one jacquard loom and a promise never to compromise on the weave. What began with a handful of Banarasi Mashru silks soon grew into a full manufacturing house, as we brought Bandhani, Ajrakh and Chinnon weaving in-house so every saree could be designed, dyed and quality-checked under one roof.
Nearly three decades on, that founding promise hasn't changed — only the number of looms, artisans and wardrobes it reaches.
Milestones
Our Journey So Far
A timeline of the moments that shaped Peshni — from our first loom to the sarees we weave today.
The First Loom
Peshni is founded in Surat with a single jacquard loom, weaving Banarasi Mashru silk sarees for local wholesalers.
Building Our Own Looms
We invest in our own in-house jacquard looms, bringing Bandhani and Ajrakh weaving under one roof instead of outsourcing to third parties.
From Wholesale to Wardrobes
Peshni moves beyond wholesale, delivering sarees directly to customers' doors and cutting out the middlemen between our looms and your wardrobe.
Weaving Responsibly
We formalise fair-wage practices for our 200+ artisans and adopt lower-waste dyeing processes across our Ajrakh and Bandhani lines.
50,000 Sarees & Counting
Peshni crosses 50,000 handwoven sarees delivered to 15+ states, and launches the featherlight Chinnon silk collection for everyday wear.
